A victory I wanted to share!

So I figured if anyone would understand the importance of this moment to me, it would be you all, the lovely followers of tumblr’s massively supportive fitblr community. That being said, here I am, all but bursting with joy as I remember the exchanged that was shared the other day between my boyfriend Trevor and me:

Trevor: *suddenly hoists me over his shoulder and spins me around* Hey, babe!
Me: *terrified for my life* Holy shit, what are you doing?
Trevor: *sets me down* What? You’re light as hell, babe. You can’t be more than 140 pounds or something.

Okay. This is life-changing. Between 130-140 pounds was my original UGW, back when I had one. Granted, I haven’t weighed myself in what feels like forever, but I know when I did, I was precariously perched somewhere around 150. Which was the lowest weight of my life since in middle school I think.

Whether I’m 140 or not, though, is no longer the point. That’s the most amazing part. The point is that I look and feel my best, and that resonates. Once I shifted my focus from solely losing weight to getting healthy and fit all around, the weight loss part was just a side effect. Now my size 5 bermuda shorts are barely staying on my waist, and I have more bikinis now than I have ever owned in my entire life. By changing my mindset and my attitude, I in turn changed my life.

And that, my friends, is definitely a victory.
